Derek Bennati

Sensei Derek Bennati was introduced to the martial arts as a kid watching shows like UltraMan, KungFu and the Green Hornet. One day in November of 1992 after graduating from high school, he was in Encore Music and overheard someone talking about the karate training a couple doors down with Kyoshi Joslin. He decided to see what it was all about. After meeting with Kyoshi Ron Joslin, he was full of excitement and couldn’t wait to ask his best friend to take classes with him. Sensei Bennati began helping with others in class around 1993 at the rank of orange belt. He was awarded his Black Belt on January 13th, 1996. Sensei Bennati has been a full time professional martial artist since the year 2000.
